When I arrived, in the middle of the Netherlands v Brazil 2010 World Cup quarter-final, the city was a bit of a ghost town. Everybody was jam-packed in the bars and hardly anyone out on the streets. The market traders had even brought their own televisions with them and about the only customers they seemed to be getting were those checking the action on the screens.

More an excuse just to use this pic than a serious tip - but remember, the Dutch do take their football seriously.
