While in Kuala Lumpur, I stayed at the Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur City Centre in the city's Golden Triangle. This is right in the downtown area, and is within walking distance of many good restaurants, the Petronas Twin Towers, and the Menara Kuala Lumpur. It is one of the better hotels in the capital, and has a beautiful lobby with large windows overlooking the pool area. The rooms have excellent views of the new skyscrapers in the area.

Unique Qualities: The Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur City Centre has 505 rooms and suites. Each room features air conditioning, international direct-dial telephone service, an internet connection, television with movie channels, a safe box, minibar, hair dryer, and iron and ironing board.

Guests have a choice of dining options, including Urban, a restaurant featuring Asian and international cuisine; the Taman Sari Brasserie offers a Malaysian buffet; and the Songket Lounge has an assortment of teas, coffees, cocktails, and snacks.
