Paris Off The Beaten Path: 1,968 reviews and 4,171 photos

One of the rare Parisian streets that takes you back a couple of hundred years, as it retains the simple provincial thoroughfare look as exactly as it was then. Pretty much only locals use it as a passageway, and it's a very rare tourist that loses his way down here. Broken and rutted cobblestones tells the story of wooden carriage wheels, no drainage means you're better off wearing gumboots to pass by here. Also a touch of humour with the plaque for "Cat Analysis". At night the street retains a certain air of "intimité" and mystery. Quite easy to imagine Jack the Ripper creeping round the corner.

Pernety is the closest metro.
