The modest convent buildings are easily overlooked despite their location at the entrance to Niederburg and the old town from the Rhine bridge. The convent of Dominican nuns is still active; a rare example of a nunnery that survived the secularization of the early 19th century and has been continuously inhabited to this very day. It was not closed down because the nuns ran a school for girls.

The little church is open to visitors only during very limited opening hours, thus it is a question of good luck to get in. The convent buildings are enclosure and cannot be entered. My boss and I once called for business reasons which involved the convent?s art treasures. Even we did not get any further than the door and the parlour, so forget about any notions to see the interior.
