"Men and women alike wear the..." Morocco Local Custom Tip by SueRivet

Men and women alike wear the loose and long jalabi. Not only is it a Muslim garb, but it is really practical in keeping off the hot heat of the sun, while allowing breezes to flow beneath the robe. And lest you think that it is necessarily a pious garment, there are cheap white cotton jalabis worn by the poor folk, but the wealthier people wear some pretty posh fashions.

Open-backed leather slippers are also de rigeur, as they can be easily removed at the entry to the mosque.
