Once you're there, avoid the 29 (the main highway up through the valley)....speed up the Silverado Trail (it runs parallel to the 29, as in on the east side of the valley, and cross when you need to get to the up valley towns...Yountville, Oakville, Rutheford, St. Helena...
The Wine Valley Train, with its dinner options, is a quiet peaceful way to head up the valley.
