"A nice hotel & location, SOME air conditioning" Europa Hotel Belfast Tip by charlesracine

Europa Hotel Belfast, Belfast: 3,959 reviews and 6 photos

If we would ever visit Belfast again, we would stay there again, though keep in mind many rooms do NOT have air conditioning even though it is a 4 or 5 star hotel. Our room did not have it even though we had the room next to the President Clinton Suite on the 11th of 12 floors. Rooms with air conditioning cost more.

Unique Qualities: It was bombed 36 times, 34 by the IRA. The other two times, who knows. As I understand there were no deaths because they always gave a warning before the blast to allow people to escape.
The Opera across the street was completely destroyed 6 times. Those guys were persistant. It was a war zone back then. Times are much better now.

There are 3 pubs, one very nice, directly across the street though, other than that within several blocks the city is quite bland.
