The York Visitor Information Centre opposite the Art Gallery is housed in a building from 1842 that used to be the Officers Mess for the Yorkshire Hussar Regiment, it is a great place to go and pick up some information on ther many things to do.
They will help you plan your day (or days) and you can get maps of routes between the places that you wish to visit. If you are not starting of your visit near the Centre look out for the Machines that are dotted around the City centre where you can look up places to visit and also print your own maps.

Tour buses also leave from Exhibition Square opposit the Information Centre
