"3* close to the train station and old town" Hotel Matejko Tip by Dabs

Fortunately for me I waited long enough to book a hotel that I got someone else to do all the research for me (thanks Ed!) so I booked the Hotel Matejko which turned out to be perfectly fine for what we needed and well located near the train station and a short walk from old town. An added bonus was that the VT group for Saturday's excursion left right from the plaza outside our hotel.

We booked the hotel via Expedia for $85 per night including tax although there was a small city tax due upon checkout.

Unique Qualities: Hotel Matejko is a small 45 room hotel plus three suites. Our room was comfortable and came with a TV but no room safe or refrigerator/mini bar.

The bathroom had a shower but no tub, plenty of hot water. The toiletries weren't much, just soap and shampoo. If you need a hair dryer you can check one out from the reception desk for the duration of your stay.

Breakfast is included in the rate and included meat, cheese, bread, cereal, yogurt, juice, tea and coffee
