"Solid Budget Choice" Inn on Crowchild Tip by Jetgirly

The Inn on Crowchild is an older hotel located in the northwest part of Calgary. It is conveniently located directly off Crowchild Trail, and is only minutes by foot from the Dalhousie C-Train station (for light rail transit). People coming to Calgary to visit the University of Calgary or SAIT will find it convenient, and people wanting to escape west to the Rockies will also like it's proximity to the west edge of the city. It also offers easy access to Stoney Trail, the ring road that circumvents the city (if you're off to Edmonton early the next morning).

The lobby and rooms are somewhat dated, but certainly not falling apart. Everything was clean and tidy, though we did notice that housekeeping often didn't get around to the room until the late afternoon. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, not a place to hang out, Crowchild Inn is fine. On-site facilities include a lounge and restaurant-bar, though the Indian restaurant in the building has closed recently. In addition to a recent stay I also had a meeting here a few years ago, and I remember being impressed by the friendliness of the catering staff.

The surrounding neighborhood has quite a few restaurants (just over the pedestrian overpass, or thirty seconds by car if you're that lazy!), as well as a gas station, supermarket, large bookstore and two Starbucks (one in Chapters, one in Safeway).
