Even if you don't go to Maritime NP (see previous tip), take a trot out on the long curve of the municipal pier right next door for some very nice views of the city, the ships of the Maritime, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate. The pier encircles the aquatic park section of the Maritime and is fun on a sunny day when the sailboats are out in force. This is also a popular spot for fishing - and the gulls know it.

The walk along the waterfront and out on the pier is smooth and flat - good for strollers and wheelchairs.
