Camping de Molenslag: "Good Campsite, shame about the surroundings" Monster Hotel Tip by camshleesh
Monster Hotels: 2 reviews and 1 photos
Two of us plus dog stayed in one of the Holzhuette.
The hut is spacious, basic but clean, with sink, gas stove, fridge and kitchen utensils. Has one set of bunk beds and sofa bed. You can pull up your car to load and unload, and the parking spaces are close. You can walk to the beach in half a minute from the edge of the campsite over some steps which are wide and not too steep.
The roof of the hut is not wood, but canvas, which makes the hut cold, but the heater soon makes the place cosy again. We were slightly cold in the night though, because we didn't want to leave the gas heater on, but the temperature outside was particularly cold. I imagine through most of the summer it would be fine.
We were here slightly outside the peak season, so we didn't barbeque or spend much time out and about in the campsite, but there did seem to be a play area and a decent looking volleyball space.
The toilets and showers are clean, the showers are also hot and free to use without coins or tokens. Wifi is 15 euros per week, and works well - just be aware that one password only works on one machine, this is obvious I suppose, but we have 2 laptops and were caught out on the first night.
Staff are friendly and helpful, and speak at least English and German as welll as Dutch.
Anyone visiting should be aware that there are a lot of guests with dogs on the campsite, although they were well-behaved and quiet when we were here and the site is very clean - possibly the only turd-free area in the whole region (see my warnings in the other sections).
Unique Qualities: Very close to the beach.
