There are two main entry gates; one at east end called Ploce gate and the other at west end called Pile gate. They are heavily used by tourists and locals, since they are the only way inside the walls. The Pile gate is from 1537 and has a draw bridge separating the inner from the outer sections and a bridge between them, with a mot undernearth; now a park area. It used to be used be that the town could monitor activity of commerce by controlling this gate. A carved figure of St. Blaise is at the top over the archway entry. The Ploce gate entry is from a ramp and stairs lead down under the road to then go through a tunnel where numerous motorbikes are parked.
