The orange arched bridge we cross over now
by balhannah

Another stop on our drive was at the Alexandra P/Park. Here, there are interpretative displays on the canyon?s history.

Since the Cariboo Gold Rush days in the 1860s, a bridge has spanned the Fraser River here. There has been a few bridges......A suspension bridge, opened in 1862, the 2nd one succumbed to flood in 1887, and the last was built in 1925 is now a relic.

Now, we crossed over the orange-arched one in my photo.

The park had a walk to the river which we did, here there were good views of the bridge we were to pass over later. The old bridge is still there, very neglected!
A road leads from the parking lot to the old Alexandra Bridge, a five-minute walk from the picnic area.

Alexandra Bridge Provincial Park is located in Spuzzum, about 22 km north of Yale on Trans-Canada Highway 1, near the Fraser River in Southern British Columbia

Directions: Alexandra Bridge Provincial Park, located north of Yale on Highway 1
