This International Buddhist Temple is known across North America as the most authentic model of traditional Chinese imperial-style architecture. I thought it was beautiful, and since seeing many more Buddhist Temples overseas, this one stands as one of the best.

This style in which it is built, was once reserved for the Emperor of China.

We wandered around the buildings, taking note that it was in the Imperial colour [yellow] and of all the Chinese dragons on the roofs, beams, and pillars. Like the Forbidden City, symmetry is an important element used throughout the temple grounds.

Gold was everywhere, so much of it!

We saw all of these.......

The Sakyamuni Buddha.......
inside the Temple's Main Gracious Hall since 2002, and is the largest Buddha statue in North America. It is approx. 35 feet in height, from the bottom of the lotus base to the top of the aura, is made of camphor wood and colored with gold leaf.

Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva (Thousand-Hand-Thousand-Eye).....
is the Bodhisattva of Compassion. It has one thousand hands and one thousand eyes, but there is another one......

Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva.....
with ten thousand hands and ten thousand eyes in the Seven Buddha Pavilion of Worshipping Square, in the main courtyard. Each hand and eye symbolizes the Bodhisattva watching over human kind and protecting them from harm.

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.......
And this Buddha vowed not to attain Buddhahood until he frees all people in all realms from suffering (human realm, inferno realm, etc.).

The gardens were beautiful too!
A wander through the beautiful Chinese garden, left me with a feeling of peace & tranquility.
