"The visit to the Vatican Museum" Vatican Museum Tip by micas_pt

Vatican Museum, Vatican City: 99 reviews and 227 photos

Inside the museum you may choose to follow several routes, all of them leading you to the Sistine Chapel. So, just choose the one that pleases you the most, and start your visit. We choose the one that lead us immediatelly through the statues gallery and the maps gallery, both outstanding! I was impressed by the detail of the maps painted on the walls, keeping in mind that they were done centuries ago when technology and transportation were not comparable to nowadays.

We didn't visit the whole museum, I guess that would take more than one day. Also, we were travelling with a child which changes the way you see things and organize the visit. Neverthless we managed to visit a lot, it was a great experience!

Apart from the mencioned above, we also visited the stamps museum, which is very fun for children as it is organized with big magnifying glass which allow you to observe the details of the stamps and the coins that are exhibited there.

Also mandatory is the visit the to papal appartments, from which I'd highlight the paintings on the ceilings and walls.

And if you need a break or smoke a cigar, by the snack-bar there is the garden where you may relax for a bit outside and let the youngest run for a bit. :)
