The National Museum of American History is a perfect illustration of what makes the United States just a little different than most countries. While it does house many artifacts of what most would consider ?true? history and one its grandest displays is of the original American flag and Star-Spangled Banner National Anthem, much of the things on display are of American Pop Culture. Of course, it is precisely these things that have made the United States a lot more influential than many world wide give it credit for. Hollywood and Coca Cola are surely better ways to get promote our way of life than wars will ever be.

This is another place that baby boomers and those born before will perhaps appreciate more than newer arrivals to the planet Earth. Dorothy's ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz and Archie Bunker's sitting chair are just two pieces of an fantastic view into Americana as seen from the silver and small screen.
