Salt Pond Visitors Center at the Cape Cod National Seashore.
This is the Southern 'start' of the National Seashore and there is a small visitor center where you can learn about the area. There are several hiking trails, naturalist-led canoe trips, and an outdoor ampitheater for talks. On Sundays you can dig for clams. Right behind the visitor center is Nauset Marsh, which used to be a freshwater pond until the ocean seeped in. Now the water level rises and falls with the tides, but sediment is being deposited and one day in the future it may turn back into a freshwater pond.

Directions: Salt Pond Visitor's Center is off of Route 6 in Eastham.
