"Don't be stranded....." Khasab Warnings Or Dangers Tip by lynnehamman

On the flight to Khasab I read in Lonely Planet that there were NO taxis available at Khasab airport. Potential disaster, because the airport is quite a way from the town. What to do???
We had of course made no arrangements at all, not even a hotel booking.
So after landing, I arranged my face into the most 'helpless little female look' and decided to enquire about a ride from any of the drivers of pre-arranged hotel pick-ups. The Omanis from up north are a great deal more friendly than Muscat area.
A kind gentleman was on his mobile phone in an instant- arranging not only for a pick up for us, but helping us with accommodation. He was actually the rep for Khasab Travel. I asked for his card, and next day we arranged with him for a Dhow trip to the khors(fjords).
So.......BE WARNED- ARRANGE YOUR OWN PICK UP AT AIRPORT.
