Petite Cava: "Wine Cellar and Tapas" Top 5 Page for this destination Closed Restaurants Tip by Agraichen

Closed Restaurants, Loreto: 9 reviews and 13 photos

Unfortunately the economy has caught up and Petite Cava is closed.

The French name belies the Spanish influenced tapas and Mexican and South American wine cellar. Located at the edge of the historic district of Loreto almost at the corner of Miguel Hidalgo and Fco Madero, Hector Morales, the proprietor has made over an older facility into a very inviting restaurant.

This is a little different for Loreto. It caters more to those that wish to dine, not grab a quick taco. The wine selection is quite extensive with a focus on the higher end wines of Mexico and South America.

Favorite Dish: A favorite dish is hard to choose since the menu changes often. Every dish I've had so far has been excellent. Some tend to go heavy on cheeses, so come prepared. All dishes are prepared for sharing. On the cheese plate we had more honey in one order than we got with 3 orders at a wine bar in Los Angeles. And the price was less.

Address: 22 Miguel Hidalgo
Price Comparison: more expensive than average
Directions: Follow Salvatierra into Loreto; at the traffic light the street name changes to Miguel Hidalgo; continue till you see the Mission on the left. Begin looking for a place to park. The restaurant is located just before the intersection of Fco Madero.
