On passing through the gate, you cross a ramp and enter a lawned area in front of the Jehangiri Mahal to the left. In the middle of the paths leading to the palace is the Hauz-i-Jehangir, a huge bowl carved out of a single block of stone. It has stairs climbing its side, and is thought to have been used for bathing.
