Mount of Olives, Jerusalem: 6 reviews and 26 photos
Favorite thing: The Kidron Valley runs along the eastern wall of The Old City, separating the Temple Mount from the Mount of Olives. The Kidron Valley is the valley on the eastern side of the Old City which features significantly in the Bible.
The valley is notable also for its tombs. It is the site of many Jewish tombs, including the Pillar of Absalom, the Tomb of Bene Hezir, and the Tomb of Zechariah. There are many Muslim tombs present, as well as Christian holy places including Tomb of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint James, and Josaphat.
According to the New Testament Jesus crossed the valley many times traveling between Jerusalem and Bethany.
You can watch my high resolution photo of Jerusalem on the Google Earth according to the following coordinates 31° 46' 45.45" N 35° 14' 21.14" E or on my Google Earth Panoramio Kidron Valley.
