"III Arr: Museum Cemetery" Paris Off The Beaten Path Tip by Elisabcn

I ?discovered? this strange garden when I was visiting Carnevalet Museum: looking through the windows I saw . . . chairs growing from the trees!! So I had to investigate by myself that new French invention.
This peaceful garden, Square Georges Cain (the name of an old Carnevalet Museum?s curator) is used by the museum as an ?open air deposit? for old stones. Stones that form part of the city?s past and are forgotten by people and even by the museum itself. We could say that it is a kind of Museum Cemetery! In this cemetery we can find pieces like the fronton from the Tuilleries Palace, destroyed by fire in 1871; a group of Louis XIV sculptures from the door of Saint Germain en Laye Palace; or a rosette from the former Town Hall . . . And maybe there are more treasures underground! Is this strange fertilizer what makes chairs grow from the Parisian trees? Please help!!
