the main gateway to boracay!

and it is no wonder that Boracay's Rivals in the South East Asian Region such as Phuket, Bali and Langkawi have more tourists to them is that they have world class international airports to their areas (see my Bali, Phuket and Langkawi Tips) while Boracay has two small airports, the Kalibo Airport which is two hours away from Boracay and this Airport, which only has one runway of 950 meters long that is capable of allowing only turbo-prop planes at present!

The airport has a small terminal with small but air conditioned departure area and a smaller arrival area and the airport has a few stores and restaurant inside.

But fear not as this airport is now being redeveloped as the Terminal is being upgraded and the runway is currently being extended to 2100 meters to accomodate the Airbus A 319/320 and Boeing 737 of international airlines so that they can have direct international flights to and from boracay!

currently, only Cebu Pacific and PAL Express fly to the airport as the now defunct SEAir has now stopped operations to Boracay.
