"Blue & Gold Fleet Bay Cruise" Bay Cruises - Tours Tip by mindcrime
Bay Cruises - Tours, San Francisco: 13 reviews and 32 photos
There is a good reason to visit Fishermans Wharf even if you think it is just a tourist trap (it is by the way), and this reason is to take a boat (that will take you away from the trap by the way). You can just take the boat to Sausalito/Tiburon Ferry($19 round trip), Angel Island($15). There are also some ferry tours like for Valiejo($26 round trip) or Alameda/Oakland($12.50 round trip).
Most of the visitors choose a small tour like:
Bay Cruise Adventure ($24), RocketBoat($26), and Escape from the Rock($26).
The Blue & Gold Fleet Bay Cruise was included in our CityPass so we spend a nice 60’ ride towards the Golden Gate Bridge, we passed under it and then we sailed next to Alcatraz island (a photo stop next to it but you can’t visit the island on this tour). What I liked most on the tour was the beautiful San Francisco city behind us, it was one truly relaxing moment, I almost forgot I am with some others on the same boat. I was just thinking how nice was to be there.
Have in mind that it may get chilly/windy on the boat so take a jacket with you no matter what the temperature is before boarding. We saw a girl freezing for an hour.
Before entering the boat a photographer will take a picture of you. After the cruise you can check the photo and buy it if you like, they will give it in several sized including a small magnet frame.
Address: Pier 39
Directions: at Fishermans Wharf
