This is a beautiful old Victorian home in Queen Anne style that was built in 1885 by one of the leading shipmen of the day. A Queen Anne home is described as elaborate and eccentric. With steep pitched roof, towers, asymmetrical outlines, decorative spindles they were unique but the style did not last long. The Flavel House has been kept in the best of condition with period furniture and decorations. We came across it accidentally and loved the architecture however we were unable to take the tour.
