Red Sands: "Shhhh! Home sweet home!" Kuruman Hotel Tip by smirnofforiginal

Kuruman Hotels: 4 reviews and 7 photos

Brick cabins with bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, living area and a balcony of unspoilt views across the Kalahari. You can drive to your cabin which is nowhere near any other cabin (wind up torches at the ready because it is dark up here when you switch the cars headlights off!). Clean & confortable but the setting is heavenly. After hours/days/weeks on the road it was absolutely still, tranquil, silent, beautiful and totally relaxed.

Warm, welcoming, friendly staff with big smiles.
The restaurant serves delicious food and has a very well stocked bar. We never did find out what the monkey gland source was made of... but we never found the Red Sand monkey sanctuary either :-o Furthermore when we enquired as to whether or not eh dish Russian with chips was indeed a person from Russia the staff peeled off laughing before looking confused and saying they didn't know!

Highly recommend this accommodation.
For our cabin (accommodating a family of 4, i.e had 2 bedrooms) the cost was 800 Rand which included breakfast. This was a good price.

Unique Qualities: Location, location, location.
