"Memorial Hemicycles" Taguig Things to Do Tip by cyndymc
Taguig Things to Do: 49 reviews and 200 photos
Right infront of the chapel is a wide terrace. On the opposite ends (east and west) of the terrace are two large hemicycles stretched in a semicircle, almost meeting at the stairs at the end of the Central Mall. There, you see 25 operational maps showing the detailed achievements of the American Armed Forces in the Pacific, China, India and Burma.
Within the hemicycles are "fins" or walls called Tablets of the Missing. Chiselled on the tablet walls are information on the martyr soldiers in alphabetical order with Surname, First name, Initial then Rank, Service and State which they entered the service. The names of those since recovered and identified are marked with rosettes. The seals of the American states and its territories are carved on the floors.
Address: Manila American Cemetery & Memorial, Taguig
