Sergiyev Posad Local Customs: 8 reviews and 15 photos
As in some other cities, also Sergiyev Posad has a bridge where married couples clamp padlocks on the railings. Usually the key should be thrown into the water underneath the bridge.
The love padlock is seen as a symbol for the never-ending love. This custom is known since the early 1980's when it started in the city of Pecs (Hungaria).
Directions:
The bridge with the love Padlocks can be found near the southern end of the small park which is situated to the south of the monastery.
