This temple and pagoda was first build in 1092 by a Liao emperor. In 1271 Kublai Khan totally reconstructed the pagoda in the Tibetan style. The temple now houses a great collection of Bronces and Tibetan Thangkas.
Today the temple is more a museum than a working temple. But there are monks living in it and you can see Tibetan prayer flags around.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday 9:00 - 17:00
Entrance Fee is 20 Yuan

The hutong area around is very interesting and worth a stroll around.

Address: Xichengqu, Fuchengmen Neidajie 171
Directions: The subway station Fuchengmen is not far away. After visiting the White Pagoda Tempel you can walk th Fuchengmen Neidajie to the East and come across the Temple of the Ancient Monarchs and the Buddhist Tempel Guangji Si (see my tipps)
