Hundertwasserhaus (Hundertwasser House in English) is located at the corner of Löwengasse and Kegelgasse in the third district of Vienna. It has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in the city! This oddly designed residential building was designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser and constructed in 1985. It is a colourful apartment block with crooked, uneven and undulating walls, balconies and terraces. Plants and trees are growing from the roofs. There are approximately 50 apartments in the building. It has certainly become part of cultural heritage in Vienna.

Hundertwasser can be compared to Antoni Gaudi who designed La Pedrera or Casa Mila in Barcelona! Unfortunately visitors are not allowed to enter and visit the apartments as they are private properties. Undoubtedly the building has an amazing piece of architecture, it has to be said! Visitors can visit Kalke Village just opposite Hundertwasserhaus to shop for souvenirs, post cards etc. There is even an art gallery (free admission) on the first floor where you can purchase copies of the paintings.

Address: Löwengasse/Kegelgasse, Vienna
Directions: Take Underground train line U3 or U4 and alight at Landstrasse subway station and approximately 10 minute walk to the corner of Löwengasse and Kegelgasse in the 3rd District.
