Sicilian Avenue: "Short street in the West End" London Shopping Tip by Britannia2

Designed by R J Worley in 1910 with classical Italian features, it was one of the earliest pavement cafe areas in London. It runs diagonally across from Bloomsbury Way to Southampton Row, just north of Holborn tube station. I had never seen this attractive street before despite walking through this area many times over the years and it is one of London's most attractive streets despite only being about 100 feet long.
There are actually only 5 shops - a shoe shop, a poster and card shop, a florist, a menswear shop and a take away sandwich shop - the other establishments are cafes and restaurants.
Very attractive and well worth seeking out.
Address: Holborn, WC1A 2QH
Directions: Near Holborn tube.
