The hike to Lake Haiyaha is another one of the many that emanate from Bear Lake Trailhead. Though by no means secluded, it is not quite as crowded as the one to Emerald Lake. The 2.1 mile trail climbs 750 feet initially along the same trail as to Emerald Lake but veering off prior to the biggest elevation gain. It is quite possible to do this in combination with the other lakes in the area though not within their circuit in a strict sense.
We did this on a cloudy day but it was mid-afternoon and it was still fairly busy. It would be a great spot for sunrise but you can't be everywhere at once so you have to choose which of these beautiful lakes is your favorite.
Directions: Bear Lake Trailhead is two-thirds in on Bear Lake Road in the eastern portion of the park.
