We stayed at this hotel for 6 days in 2008. The pictures you see on the hotel's website are old. It is much older in reality. Having said that, we enjoyed it very much. It is really more like a motel set-up, with all rooms facing a walkway, either ground floor or up one set of steps. We liked it because our suite was spacious and included a little kitchenette.

Unique Qualities: The location on Sac Bajo, at the south end of the island, was fantastic. The hotel has a very nice pool and is right on a little beach, Playa Tiburon. You could snorkel right by the dock by the hotel or visit the nurse shark. As well as a beach bar next door, which was only open in the day, Cristalmar also had its own restaurant which was open for all three meals. It was never very busy and rather slow service but very tasty food at a reasonable price.
