Esplanade Park is a nice park with quite a few interesting memorials located in it.

Tan Kim Seng Fountain is a pretty Victorian cast-iron Fountain. Tan Kim Seng was a prosperous merchant and one of early Singapore?s benefactors. He made a major donation to the Singapore Water Works to alleviate a problem of his time, and in recognition of his generosity, this fountain was dedicated to him in 1882.

The Cenotaph commemorates those who lost their lives for Singapore during World Wars I and II. Its unveiling in 1922 was attended by Louis Mountbatten.

The Indian National Army Monument is dedicated to the army of Indians formed to fight for India?s liberation from British colonial rule.

Lim Bo Seng Memorial commemorates the struggle of a brave man. During World War II, Lim Bo Seng was an underground resistance fighter, who when captured, refused to reveal the names of his fellow fighters. Tortured to a cruel death, he was buried with full military honours. Four bronze lions stand in honourable guard to his memory.

Esplanade Park is located along Connaught Drive, opposite Padang and City Hall. It is one of the oldest parks in Singapore, being developed in 1943, and redeveloped in 1991.
