... if so, then see Maribor Art Gallery (in slovenian we say Umetnostna galerija Maribor for your information) which holds collection of over 3000 works by Slovenian artists - among them the most renowned ones from late 19th century until nowsadays. Just to name few of them: Zoran Music, Ante Trstenjak, Rihard Jakopic, Jurij Subic, Avgust Cernigoj, Slavko Tihec, Veno Pilon... but there're many more to say (if names tell you something).
Other stuff include video art, modern sculpture/installation and photography. It is worth to check out their programme in advance (from web site) as they hold variety of temporary exhibitions brought in Maribor just for a few months or weeks, such as Drawing in Slovenia which exhibited all big and important names and their works from second half 20ieth century, for example.

The gallery holds place in old historical buildings - here there were manor house from early 19th century and former church of Celestine monastery from second half of 18th century. See beautiful wooden floor there.
