"Interlaken OST for the Jungfrau, Brienz & Luzern" Top 5 Page for this destination Switzerland Transportation Tip by globetrott

The trainstation Interlaken OST
is for the Jungfrauregion,
for Brienz & Luzern
Interlaken OST is the train-station that you will take, when you intend to explore the Jungfrau-region (Wilderswil - Lauterbrunnen - Grindelwald - Wengen - Muerren - Schilthorn - Gimmelwald -) or plan to go to Brienz, Brienzer Rothorn or to Luzern via the scenic Bruenig-pass. All of these trains have a different size because they need cog-wheels for their steeper mountain-passages. All of the trains arriving via Spiez-Thun-Bern will also end in Interlaken OST !
In a walking-distance of just 3 minutes you can go from this station to board the ships, cruising Brienzersee / Lake Brienz.
A large COOP-supermarket and COOP-selfservice-restaurant is opposite of the station !
At the end of train-track #4 you will find the hall of Ballenberg-bahn, an old steamtrain !
Walkingtime from Unterseen to the station Interlaken OST is about 20-25 minutes, I would not recommend it , when you have a lot of luggage. Without luggage it is an easy walk along the lovely river Aare
There are many automatic lockers at the station, the fee is 5 sfr for 24 hours !
