Chiang Mai Things to Do: 718 reviews and 1,697 photos

This temple is located just down the road from Wat Chiang Yeun, outside the north-eastern corner of the old city. During the tome of King Inthawichayanon (r. 1870-97), a group of Buddhists from the Shan States founded a monastery here in a grove (pa) of Plao trees, locally called pao, which gave the monastery its name. The main wooden viharn was built in 1891.

Directions: Th Mani Nopharat, North of the moat
