Sukhothai Things to Do: 121 reviews and 303 photos

Sukhothai's dynasty lasted nearly 200 years and had nine kings. The most famous was King Ramkhamhaeng, who reigned from 1275 to 1317 and is credited with developing the first Thai script - his inscriptions are considered the first Thai literature. He also expanded the kingdom to include almost all of present-day Thailand. This monument to him lies to the north-east of Wat Mahathat.
