"Wat Chana Songkhram" Sukhothai Things to Do Tip by Willettsworld

Sukhothai Things to Do: 126 reviews and 308 photos

Wat Chana Songkhram was formerly known as Wat Ratchaburana. Its imposing building is the main chedi which is a bell shape of vast size. In the east there are a vihara, the ordination hall and subordinate chedis surrounding the main one. Topped by a structure in the shape of receding stories (vimanas), one of these subordinate chedis on the eastern flank of the main chedi is worth mentioning because of its striking feature, which conclude that it may have been built during the later Ayutthaya period.

Directions: Central zone: Situated to the north of Wat Mahathat and near to the town pillar shrine.
