"RED HILL LOOKOUT" Top 5 Page for this destination Red Hill Nature Reserve Tip by balhannah
Red Hill Nature Reserve, Canberra: 3 reviews and 10 photos
This Lookout is located on the opposite side of Canberra to the other two major Lookouts.
Located to the south of the city centre, this lookout offers great views over the national icons. We were here in Spring, but in autumn, I think the sight would be stunning with all the golds & reds of the autumn leaves.
The lookout is directly above a golf course and the restaurant and cafe would have great views.
See a view of the back of Capital Hill, instead of the usual front view!
The Kiosk was closed the day we visited, I don't know if this is normal.
I also read that this is a good place for Bird watching as the eucalypt hollows are the favourite nesting places of white-throated treecreepers and southern boobooks. (Owls)
Address: Red Hill road, Red Hill
Directions: take the southern axis away from Parliament House (called Melbourne Ave) you eventually reach Red Hill Drive which will take you to the top of Red Hill
