Al Noor Mosque or Masjid Al-Noor is situated alongside the corniche of King Khaled Lake.
It is a copy of the "Blue Masjid" in Istanbul and Masjid Mohammad Ali Pasha, Salah Ad-Dine Al-Ayoubi Citadel in Cairo.

One exception: the "Blue Mosque" has 6 minarets, but the Mosques in Cairo and Sharjah have traditionally only 2 minarets each.
It has been constructed to commemorate Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi - the Emir of Sharjah's eldest son. We have been told that he died of a heroin overdose in England.

Directions: You may watch my high resolution photo of Sharjah on the Google Earth according to the following coordinates 25° 20' 1.91" N 55° 23' 15.11" E or on my Google Earth Panoramio Al Noor Mosque .
