"San Polo and Santa Croce" San Polo District - Sestiere San Polo Tip by calcaf38

These two Sestieri blend into each other and offer opportunities for quiet walks in dark, narrow alleys in addition to some of the most beautiful churches - and the famed paintings inside the churches. This can be a good area to find accommodation because it is centrally located, with Vaporetto stops handy and access to the bus and train station too.

The areas closer to the Grand Canal are the fanciest. San Croce is quite sleepier. There is a large market by the Rialto bridge, but the surroundings of the bridge are a bit of a zoo.
