"Bazilika sv. Jiri ? Prazsky hrad" Hradcanske Square & Mathias Gate Tip by ruki

It is one of the oldest church located near Prague Castle. Church has romanesque architecture. Founded in 920 by the Prince Vratislav I, it was rebuilt in the 12 th Century. In 17 century facade gained its baroque appearance. Inside this church looks more or less as it did in the 12 th century. The house shaped painted tomb at the front of the church holds the remains of the founder, Vratislav I. Up the steps, in a chapel to the right, is the tomb Peter Parler designed for St. Ludmila, the grandmather of the St. Wenceslas.
