"Sts Cyril and Methodius Church" Church of St. Cyril and St. Methodius Tip by Raimix

The church was constructed in 1730 ? 1739 in Baroque style. That time it had a name of St. Charles Borromeus. Building stayed neglected from 1783 till 1934, when it was given to Orthodox belief people, named Sts Cyril and Methodius.

Actually church is mostly known from one event that happened in World War II. Seven Czech parachutists were hiding in the church after trying to assassinate Reich governor or Bohemia and Moravia Reinhald Heydrich (they succeeded). Nazis soldiers attacked the church. Few hours? later Czech parachutists committed suicide with last bullets not to be enslaved, as the power was not equal.
