St. Francis Church was reconstructed into baroque style in the 17th century, the church was gothic before and there are still remains left ? that?s underground chapel. Church designed by famous French architect Jean Baptiste Mathey, it is told that he used Rome?s St. Peter?s Church design as an example.

Church is possessed by Order of the Knights of the Cross with a Red Star. The Church is nicely incorporated into panorama of old town looking from Charles Bridge.
