The only route down to the lake is the Cleekwood Cove Trail. It is a short 1 mile but it drops 700 feet in the process so it is not recommended for those with heart or walking difficulties. It is NOT wheel-chair accessible. While the trail is not overly scenic, it does give you some different perspectives of the lake and some of the views of the blue of the lake contrasted with the very green trees you are walking down through are stunning. It is also interesting to see the extremely clear water up close and see some of the features submerged below its surface.

Toilets are provided at the trail head and even at the lake itself since this is where the dock is for the boat trips.

If you are in decent shape, this is an easy and fast hike worth doing. If that is not the case, make your decision wisely. Once down, there is only way back up and that's by your own steam.

Directions: Trail head on north side of Rim Drive.
