Cafe Kor - Circulus Kft, Budapest: 6 reviews and 9 photos

Sas Utca is lined with a number of high quality and expensive restaurants, but this is arguably the best. The food is Hungarian but with an international, kinda French, twist. But it's not soaked in pork fat like a lot of the other Hungarian places popular with tourists and locals. The taste here is more refined, although the food is still distinctly meat based. You won't even find a solitary bean in the beef goulash.

The food is great, the service excellent, and the wine list is phenomenal. It is a little pricey, but the ambience is comfortable quality, not painfully chic or bourgeois. You don't need to dress up to enjoy food here. The place is a little cramped, and it can get a bit too cosy on busy evenings. You won't be able to avoid your neighbour's conversations, and some of the two seater tables are so close they could be four seaters.

Reservations are essential in the evenings, but don't worry the staff speak excellent English.

Open Monday to Saturday, from 10 am to 10 pm.
