At Fire Island Pines you can be assured of getting the sun, the moon and the stars.

Everyone comes for the sun. The beach, where sun worshipers park themselves in the high season, at The Pines is known around the world. Watching sunsets is a big deal here in The Pines (see Fire Island Pines Things to Do Tip).

The moon and the stars, on the other hand, are less sought after; when they make their appearance after the sun sets, the sun worshipers have moved on to other things, drinking and dancing at Tea Dance.

Watching these other celestial bodies is much more satisfying here in The Pines. Because we have no light pollution to interfere with sky watching it is possible to spot star constellations easily. Be overwhelmed by the number of stars in the sky. The Big Dipper is the only constellation that I can recognize; it is very satisfying to see it on a clear night.
