The metro service is Washington DC is one of the most reliable, cleanest and best organized in the country. It succeeds to connect most places within the District and with Virginia (Arlington, Alexandria and Fairfax) and Maryland (Rockville, Silver Spring, University of Maryland's College Park). The metro opens up at 5 am (weekdays) or 7 am (weekends), and closes at midnight (Sunday to Thursday) or 3 am (Friday and Saturday).
